If you ever worked in a restaurant you would know communication is key, some would argue it's the backbone to success.
Communicating where you are in the kitchen and everywhere else is extremely important in the day-to-day life of working hospitality. With hot, heavy, and sharp items everywhere, who wouldn't want to avoid those? So there are many lingos to the industry and each kitchen has its unique vocab. Sayings like "behind" or "corner" allow our team to know where you are at and your next move. I love it. We probably say those words hundreds of times a day.
So I find myself saying them out loud in public randomly and at first, I would be embarrassed but now I embrace it with warm grace. Grocery stores seem where I do it the most, maybe it is the food that gets me going.
So here is to more "behind" or "corner" in our everyday life. It is the little things that make the biggest difference. Own
